“Everyday on the water is a good day.”

Robby Naish, US-1111

Follow The Winds is run by 2 sailors (a windsurfer and a yachtie) who had an idea to improve the way our favourite watersports news could be consumed in a world of mobile phones and endless newsfeeds.

The idea is to create a news portal that aggregates the popular articles from the top windsurfing, sailing, kiting and SUP news outlets, brand pages, riders as well as personal blogs so that users can read all their news in one place, and easily discover new sources. We originally created the current site format in 2012, with the idea to offer news headlines in a much easier to read, usable format rather than via cluttered RSS feed readers. But the history of Follow The Winds goes back to 2007 with a media project that focused on the lifestyles of pro windsurfers…

By aggregating all the most popular news articles, we can find everything in one place, rather than having to navigate each site individually. This is particularly important for brand pages, which typically get buried with the slower content production rate compared to online windsurfing magazines and social media. It gives a chance for the little guy to get a place at the table next to the big magazine.

Follow The Winds is free to use and designed with mobiles in mind. We’re constantly evaluating our current news feeds and looking for new content.

A big thanks to our friends a supporters who have helped us create the current site and develop the tech we use to syndicate the news. You know who you are!
